Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with vegetable oil for a milder flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • optional Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme) For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Rinse the cauliflower and remove the outer leaves. Place it stem-side down on a cutting board and slice into 1-inch thick 'steaks.' You should get 2-3 nice slices from a large head of cauliflower.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Brush this seasoning mixture generously over both sides of each steak.
Cooking
  1. Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  2. Once perfectly roasted, remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Keep an eye on the cauliflower steaks to prevent overcooking; they should be tender but perfectly roasted. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
