Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the sourdough starter, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Be gentle as you incorporate everything together.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick and cut into rectangular pieces, roughly 4 inches by 6 inches.
- Sprinkle a thin layer of almond flour on each piece of dough and fold it over, rolling it again into a tighter shape.
- Grease a muffin tin and place the rolled dough pieces inside.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
- Remove from the oven and dust the tops with powdered sugar while they are still warm.
Notes
For nut-free, replace almond flour with all-purpose flour. Cool for 5 minutes before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
