Ingredients

Frosting Base
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered erythritol Can be made from granulated erythritol
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream Adjust for desired consistency
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by ensuring your unsalted butter is soft. If it was in the fridge, microwave it for 10-15 seconds.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and powdered erythritol. Cream them together using an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually sift in the unsweetened cocoa powder and mix until well blended, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Blend until creamy, adjusting with additional cream if it's too thick.
  5. Add a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness and enhance the chocolate flavor.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more powdered erythritol if desired, and mix again.
  7. Your Sugar-Free Keto Chocolate Frosting is now ready to be used or can be stored in the refrigerator for later.

Notes

For thicker frosting, reduce heavy cream; for softer, add more. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
